As a newbie that plays with play money the thing I can't get my head around is not seeing the flop if you have a poor hand.
For example I folded a J 4 off suit today when someone raised to 10× or more the BB before the flop turned out I would of had 4 of a kind Jacks by the turn.
Obviously this is an extreme and rare example but there's no way of saying that just because statistically AA is the strongest hand that you won't be beaten by trash 4 times out of 5.
Pros only play top 20% of hands and decide before the flop if they have a winner or not they clearly don't lament folding a 6 7 suited that turns out to be a straight when a two pair AK takes the pot.
I just can't get my best strategy for poker around writing off a hand before you even know what might be on the table Hey Jay, It is all about the math.

A hand like this also has a lot of reverse implied odds.
